Uber Reports Over 3,000 Sexual Assaults Last Year
Uber released data showing that 3,045 sexual assaults by passengers and drivers were reported in 2018. For the two year periods between 2017 and 2018, Uber reported 5,981 allegations of serious sexual assault. A copy of the report on Uber’s website is located here. In a Q and A section found on the Uber website, the company stated that they working on this report in order to improve safety for Uber customers and drivers. It is important to note that there are sexual assaults being reported by both passengers and drivers.
